COVID-19 Community Levels

COVID-19 Community levels for Rhode Island’s counties are updated on the CDC’s website weekly and on RIDOH’s COVID-19 Data Tracker each Friday.

Community levels are a tool to help communities understand their level of risk based on the latest local data and decide what COVID-19 prevention steps to take. Levels can be low, medium, or high. The level is determined by looking at the number of new COVID-19 cases in the county in the past week, the number of new patients with COVID-19 admitted to the hospital in the past week, and the proportion of hospital capacity devoted to caring for COVID-19 patients.
